Vision In Silver Vol. 3
I think the plot of the book is starting to escalate, and pick up the pace. I think the attack on the courtyard was probably the biggest incident thus far. That probably caught my eye the most, and kept me wondering how the terra indigene will react to the humans attacking. The other plot I also found interesting within this section is when Simon and the HFL Movement fight. I felt sad when not everybody made it out safe, and two lives were lost. I thought it wads heroic when Simon went back into the fight, and didn't just think about himself and escaping and keeping his own life. He risked himself for the others because he cares. I think that Simon is a compassionate and caring person. He sympathizes for others instead of himself. "Don't cry, Meg, he pleaded. It hurt in a different way to hear her crying." (406). In all, I can't wait to see what happens next in the final chapters of the book, and how everything plays out in the end. Hopefully Simon defeats all the obstacles he's faced with, and Meg can control the visions. Although this book has been very hard for me to wrap my head around, things are starting to make a bit more sense. I guess I just am struggling with this book, which usually isn't a normal thing for me. As the plots in the book start to pick up and progress, it makes it more exciting and enjoyable to read. I find myself being a bit more intrigued with the book although I don't understand parts of it.
The fight between Simon and the others and the HLF Movement really kept me on my toes. I thought it was a super interesting part of the book. The beginning of the book, it showed how they would talk about each other and how much they hated each other, but they never had any real contact until now. Now, two people are dead. One human and one a terra indigene. I would think that the person who shot MacDonald would feel bad for killing a human but he was okay with the Others and that isn’t okay with the HFL Movement. I’m surprised that Simon ended up going back into the fight. He’s typically the kind of person that would seem to think “all men for themselves”, but he shows true loyalty and friendship to the people in the attack, humans and terra indigene alike.
ReplyDeleteI think that Simon's choice to turn back and continue fighting during the market fight was a huge detail that will change a lot of things about the relationship between the humans and the terra indigene. It is made abundantly clear that Simon had made it out of the fight, that he was free to escape and get to the safety of the bus, but he chose to turn and jump back into the fight. He recognized that even though he and the other wolfgard could've gotten away, his pack in that instance included more than just the present wolfgard. The crows, humans, and beargard were also his charge and he felt responsible to help them in any way he could. This decision left him injured and could've cost Simon his life, but the fact that he did turn back meant a lot to those he helped. This, and the market scene in general will have repercussions on all of the humans and others i the courtyard, for it proves that humans and many species of others can live, work, and survive together as one pack. This is a big step in the professional and day to day relationships between humans and terra indigene.
