Death Note Vol. 3
After finally finishing Death Note, I've been left on a cliffhanger. I wasn't expecting the book to end on a note where Light is saying "so let's go, Ryuk!" to help him find the hidden cameras in his household. I'm very temped to go out and buy the next book, just to tame my curiosity.
The part that shocked me most out of this particular section of the book was that Light's father actually let L and the other investigators put the cameras in his house. He is even shown saying, "I insist you go all the way. I want bugs and cameras in the bathrooms, hallways, every inch of that house so nothing is missed!" (370). It was surprising to me that Light's father had enough pride to admit that maybe something was happening within his household, and especially with his son. It's smart that they use the tactic of bugging the whole house instead of them interrogating Light because that would only give him more insight on the case. Although, Light still is a step ahead of them because he knows that they're bugging the house.
Light also shows no remorse for killing Naomi. It was very sad to read because all she was trying to do was get justice for her fiancé Raye who was innocently killed by Kira, but instead she ends up being killed, too. At first, she played it smart and didn't give Light any insight on any of her information. After Light used the card of being a part of the force that was taking down Kira though, she finally cracked. I wish it could've ended differently, I wish she would've made it to the police station instead of Kira persuading her for her information. In all though, Kira (Light) will get what's coming to him, and his wrongful doings will definitely not go unpunished. I'm temped to go purchase the third volume of the book to see wha happens to him.

I agree that I might go out and get the second book. Dr. Pavletic did say that all the action took place in the second book. It might be worth getting just to find out what happens next. I can’t say that I was surprised that Light’s dad wanted to go above and beyond to bug the house. I think that Light got his persistence from his dad. Neither Light nor L like to lose and I think that Light’s dad is the same way. He will do anything to catch Kira even if that means he has to arrest his own son.
