Death Note Vol. 2

In the midst of this book, I've found that I really enjoy spending my time reading this book. I find myself always thinking about what's going to happen next, and all of the possibilities of what could happen. This magna its filled with action, and that's a quality of this book that keeps me very intrigued.
So far, it's no question that Light is the most intelligent character throughout the story. He thinks all of his actions through before preforming them, and as a reader we can see that after his actions play out in his favor, that the author gives us a backstory on his thinking, and how he preforms and acts out all of his tasks. One thing that I think he played out very well was the killing of Raye Penber, and how he managed to get all of the other agents names off of him. Kira "Light" says, "tell him you want to know the names and the faces of all the agents in Japan on this mission, and to send a file containing these to your computer right away" (226). Light knows how to get what he wants, in a timely and fashionable manner without getting caught.
I also find it interesting how Light talked to Shoko Maki, and insisted that she could talk to his father. He seems like he's trying to look out for her, but in reality he's playing his cards right and is gaining information so he can eventually use it against her. I find this smart, and a good tactic. Even though Light is turning into a psychopathic killer as we know it, he has a smart thought process. Although I don't agree with any of his actions and see them as unjustifiable, he is good at what he does.
I can't wait to see what the last section of the book has in store. I'm looking forward to knowing how it ends, as this book has kept me on the edge since the very beginning.
